Medium Build Oakland Concert reviews
Jimmy's Great_Cricket Sucks SO MUCH!
Cricket Pavilion is a joke in every way; Medium Build was Fun, Jovial, Laid Back - all the things one would expect.
Parking at Cricket that night was horrendous - 2 lots closed just as I had suffered my way up to each entrance. The smell indicated that the grass was just mowed which was really bad for my asthmatic husband; as was the endless number of drunken stumbling 50ish men smoking cigars everywhere we went on the hill. It was almost 9 pm before I was parked and had entered the pavilion; we had missed about 5 songs. IT WAS SO CROWDED!
The good old bad days of people joining each other at concerts for love of music and good old fun are long gone I'm afraid. Finally, the IN-YOUR-FACE and UNASHAMED MUSIC = MONEY sponsorship, marketing, and drink prices put the final point on my disillusionment. Sad part is I love live music and have already attended 2 more concerts at Cricket since then. I do this knowing that I will have to overlook much and have lower expectations. I've seen Medium Build at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin and that facility matched Medium Build's style in every way and resulted in a wonderful, memorable concert experience.
